PROJECT / RINGWOOD HIGH STREET
Giving Ringwood High Street its life back.
The former NatWest at 11 High Street has stood empty, with a blank, closed-up frontage in the middle of the Conservation Area. We’re bringing it back into use.
- Location
- Ringwood, Hampshire
- LPA
- New Forest DC
- Setting
- Conservation Area
- Status
- In planning
Our application replaces the closed-up frontage with a glazed shopfront, evenly spaced windows, level-access doors and timber-effect cladding, and removes the old cash-machine openings. The council’s own Conservation Area Appraisal lists the building as one that needs improving.
For the ground-floor café we designed the kitchen extraction so that a large spread of roof plant is replaced by one small flue in the corner of the rear flat roof, with the noisy equipment moved inside. A heritage statement and planning statement went in with it, and we prepared and submitted the premises licence application.
