PROJECT / BRISTOL
A 17th-century inn, and the conditions that come with it.
The Llandoger Trow is one of Bristol’s most famous pubs: timber-framed houses of around 1664 that narrowly survived the Blitz. Works there come with planning conditions that must be discharged before and during construction.

01 — THE WORK
We were appointed to provide the architectural services to discharge the planning conditions, working with the main contractor and the operator. That includes the detailed drawings and information the council needs on items such as the conversion of a first-floor kitchen into new toilets.
02 — WHY IT MATTERS
On historic buildings, consent is only the start. Conditions set what must be agreed before work can begin, and an expiring consent can be lost if they are not dealt with in time.
03 — WHAT WE DELIVERED
- Survey of existing conditions
- Condition discharge drawings and information
- Coordination with contractor and operator
- Technical design for the works
04 — WHERE IT STANDS
Under way, autumn 2026.
